Tropical Bob began more than five years ago as a little thrice-weekly commentary for the Sun-Herald newspapers in Charlotte and Sarasota counties. Before its run ended with Bob's retirement in January, 2008, more than 600 Tropical Bobs were created. Each tackles a single topic for about 45 seconds.
